Do I need to maintain my synthetic outdoor surface?
Maintenance is critical. No matter how good the surface is, it just will not maintain itself. Regular maintenance should include the removal of droppings, grading to provide a consistent depth and rolling and watering if required to compact the surface. More advanced surfaces such as Cushion Track require less maintenance than sand and dirt surfaces.

Do I need to water my arena?
If your surface is unwaxed it will certainly need watering in dry weather in order to achieve optimum performance. Even waxed surfaces benefit from occasional watering.

How will a synthetic surface differ in terms of dust levels to a regular surface?
The wax in the surface is added to ensure binding and consistency, but also to eliminate dust and kickback. Therefore even in very hot climates, Cushion Track is relatively dust-free.

How does Cushion Track reduce injuries?
Cushion Track is consistent throughout, which gives the horses a more sure footing, and increased confidence. The inherent ability of Cushion Track to eliminate shock damage to the horses comes from a root structure that emulates turf.
