Paul Nicholls

Leading UK Trainer

Letter 1

"Four years ago I decided to replace the wood chip surface on our hill gallop and after looking at other surfaces we found Cushion Track Premier to be ideal.

Since having Cushion Track installed, we have found injuries to the horses have been cut by two thirds and the horses have more confidence.

We use the gallop all year round, it has withstood the heat of summer and more importantly, the cold of winter, as it never freezes.

We work about one hundred horses daily on the gallop, so the low maintenance required is an added advantage. We simply run the power harrow over the surface in between lots.

The Jockeys like the surface because there is minimal kickback and the horses are more sure footed, which gives both horse and rider more confidence.

I think that Equestrian Surfaces Cushion Track is one way forward for our racecources in this country."

"Cushion Track has been really good for us.  I’d seen Cushion Track before and I was quite impressed.  Having tried other track materials I felt that Cushion Track was the way forward.

Since Installing Cushion Track we have reduced injuries to an all time low. Part of this is due to the consistency of Cushion Track.  It’s just the same all the way through.

The maintenance of Cushion Track is really straightforward.  We just run over it with the power harrow once a day and that is about all.

Part of the track is on a steep slope and we find that the track hardly moves at all."

Paul Nicholls is currently training on a gallop which uses the Cushion Track Racing synthetic surface, and an arena which uses the Cushion Track Premier synthetic surface.
