Celebrating our success at the BIBAS 2023!

It’s been a busy few weeks here at Equestrian Surfaces! 

Up against 160 finalists and after more than 400 hours of judges interviews, we’re incredibly proud to announce that the Equestrian Surfaces were recognised as ‘Highly Commended’ within the Family Business category at the prestigious BIBAs Awards, 2023! 

The highly-anticipated and glitzy awards evening took place on the 20th of September in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. It was an absolute pleasure to attend and for the judges to recognise our roots as a family-run business.

We had been shortlisted as finalists for two categories: Family Business of the Year and Green Business of the Year. Facing tough competition, just being nominated was an achievement in itself – so we’re particularly proud to have received this recognition.

What are the BIBAs 2023?

The Be Inspired Business Awards, commonly known as the BIBAs, are the largest and longest-running business awards programme in Lancashire. 

Ran by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, they celebrate the very best of business across various industries within our region. In particular, recognising those who have shown exceptional performance, innovation and commitment to their communities. 

Being ‘Highly Commended’ at the BIBAs is no small feat. It means that we have been acknowledged for our relentless pursuit of quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. This recognition serves as an affirmation that our hard work is paying off, and it motivates us to continue setting the bar high in the equestrian surfaces industry.

The family roots of our company…

While our company has evolved significantly over the years, our core values and people-focused philosophy have remained constant since our founding by Paul and Rita Harper in 1982. Now, over forty years later, their sons, James and Tom Harper, continue to lead the company as Directors.

Tom said, “Myself and the team had a fantastic time at the BIBAs and feel honoured for the judges to have recognised us within this category!”

“Despite our growing success and our international reach, our family roots are really important to us. This award is a fantastic testament to the hard work and legacy of our late father, Paul. A huge congratulations to all the winners, and a big thank you to the organisers and judges at the event!”
