Winners of the Red Rose Awards Green Award!

Last night, we were delighted to attend the 12th annual Red Rose Awards ceremony, held at Blackpool Winter Gardens, as finalists in two categories – Green and Export.

Joining an audience of over 1,000 happy finalists, all of whom have succeeded in building profitable businesses based in Lancashire, it was a welcome opportunity for the team to get dressed up and socialise outside of the office, celebrating our collective achievements from the last 12 months and networking with fellow Northern businessmen and women.

“We were absolutely thrilled to come away with the Green Award trophy,” says Equestrian Surfaces Director, Thomas Harper. “Our green initiatives have been at the forefront of our development plans for some time now, but particularly over the last twelve months we’ve been making significant investments into incorporating practices which will boost our sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint.

“This award is a testament to the efforts that have been made by the whole team, who have consistently demonstrated a commitment to greener practices. We are so pleased to have had that commitment recognised by the judges and acknowledged with this award, which will be displayed in pride of place at our head offices in Burnley!”

“All of our surfaces are made using recycled carpet fibres,” says Managing Director, James Harper. “Our business exists because of our ability to take something that is largely considered to be waste, and repurpose it into something that’s not only useful but practical, durable, and reliable, so you could say that ‘green’ is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why it was particularly special to be coming away with this award.”

Event founder and publisher of Lancashire Business View magazine, Richard Slater, said: “The Red Rose Awards, now in its twelfth year, are very hotly contested, so Equestrian Surfaces should be very proud that they have seen off all the competition to win this award.”

Once the winners in each category had been announced, the team enjoyed live entertainment from Deadbeats at the glitzy awards afterparty, celebrating the win and dancing the night away!

“We’re looking forward to meeting up once more with all our fellow award winners at the winners’ reception later this month at Bartle Hall,” says James. “It will be great to catch up with everyone, and to chat with the judges and sponsors.”

“This is the first of a few different awards programmes we’re proud to be a part of this year,” says Tom. “Next up will be the Burnley Business Awards at the end of June, and we can’t wait to head to Towneley Hall, where we’ll hopefully bag another trophy to add to our growing collection!”
