We’ve been nominated for an award at the Freshies Awards 2023!

Those who are familiar with the work we do here at Equestrian Surfaces Ltd will be aware of the continuous commitment and dedication we put into promoting sustainability, protecting the environment and striving towards achieving Net Zero. With this in mind, we are honoured to have recently been nominated for the ‘Planet Protector’ award at the not-for-profit Freshies Awards, 2023.

The Freshies, which were launched in 2021, were designed to inspire and bring together businesses across the North West – by shining a light on the unsung heroes and success stories that are typically overlooked by traditional awards ceremonies.

We’re thrilled to have been nominated for the ‘Planet Protector’ award – which seeks to celebrate the businesses and individuals across the North West who are doing their bit to promote sustainability and look after the environment. 

“We’ve had our green initiatives at the forefront of our business for several years now – and have recently been working on a cohesive strategy to eventually become Net Zero,” says Equestrian Surfaces Managing Director, James Harper, “It’s, therefore, a huge honour to have been nominated for next year’s Planet Protector award and it means a great deal to have had our hard work and endeavours recognised!” 

“At Equestrian Surfaces, we believe in something called a circular economy – which is essentially a model of production and consumption, which involves reusing and recycling existing materials for as long as possible. We practise this by turning discarded carpet fibres (that would otherwise end up in a landfill) into practical and durable equestrian surfaces. The goals of a circular economy are to help tackle climate change, and reduce waste and pollution, therefore, positively impacting our planet.” 

Although the awards are not until June 2023, our team are eagerly looking forward to catching up with our fellow North West-based businesses and getting to celebrate the successes of our peers and friends!
