The best thing about my job is the team I work with – they’re all excellent team players who are great at what they do.
“I’ve always loved horses and started riding when I was five years old. I used to help out a family friend by looking after her horses on most days, and I knew I wanted to work with horses from a young age. After I left school, I went on to study at Blackburn College, gaining a Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification. Knowing that this wasn’t my real passion, I then went on to study for two years at Myerscough College, gaining a National Diploma in Horse Management.
“My first equestrian job was as a groom at Crow Wood Equestrian – a position I retained for six years. However, after an unfortunate injury, I decided to hang up my boots and relied on my beauty qualification again, accepting a role at the Woodland Spa as a therapist and part of the reservations team. From this role, I gained a lot of valuable experience in office management and customer service, which I was then able to bring forward to my job at Equestrian Surfaces. I knew the Harper family on a personal basis and was invited to join the team here in January 2017 as a result of my equine and customer service background.
“The best thing about my job is the team I work with – they’re all excellent team players who are great at what they do. I also like speaking with and meeting new people, and ensuring that all operations run smoothly and our clients are kept happy.
“Outside of work, I like to socialise with friends, eating out and exploring new cities around the world on weekend trips. I attempt to keep fit and go to the gym, and I enjoy walks in the countryside with my dog, Cliff (a black Labrador).”
