“I left school at the age of 16, and straight away my goal was to work alongside my father, learning all areas of the business with the view to take over the helm at some point in the future, when he would happily retire.

“With this view in mind, I occupied several roles as I developed my knowledge of the business, working my way through the departments of manufacturing, sales, transport, and production. Between the ages of 18 to 21, my role with the company afforded me a lot of opportunities to travel the world, and I worked as the project leader on several projects
across America, Australia and Europe.

“Following my years of travelling around the world, at the age of 21 I then stepped into the role of Production Manager, where I was responsible for overseeing the production and manufacturing of the fibre and surfaces at our site in Burnley, Lancashire. Natural progression saw me move into the role of Operations Manager, which involved me managing the transport and installations side of the business, before I became a director in 2014 following the passing of my father.

“My father – the founder and leader of our business – passed away when I was 24, and I had to learn very quickly what it takes to run a successful business, and how to manage the failures as well as the accomplishments. The goal to make my dad proud and to continue the amazing legacy he left for us is what drives me every day, and I feel very fortunate to be in the position I’m in, where I can support my family by doing a job I love.

“Outside of work, I love to spend time with my beautiful wife, Eloise, our daughter, Etta, and our son, Ethan, as well as our six horses and three dogs!”
