We’re saddling up for an exciting awards season!

The past few months have been a whirlwind of activity for us here at Equestrian Surfaces. 

While the sun has been shining, we’ve been bustling with behind-the-scenes judges’ interviews, site tours and extensive awards application preparations, and we’re pleased to say that the team’s hard work and efforts have paid off. 

Having been lucky enough to have already secured two prestigious award (please read our previous blog on winning at the North West Family Business Awards here), we have also been selected as finalists across a variety of upcoming awards and ceremonies. 

So, let’s take a closer look at what the season looks like for us…

 

The Lancashire Business Environment Awards – 21st of June 2023

We are thrilled to announce that we were shortlisted as finalists in two distinguished categories at The Lancashire Business Environment Awards, which took place on the 21st of June at Crow Wood Hotel in Burnley – and even happier that we won the Destination Net Zero award!

These awards are organised by the Chamber Low Carbon in association with the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, with a shared vision of honouring businesses that actively contribute to a greener, sustainable, and prosperous future. As a Lancashire-based business, we are truly honoured to be recognised among leading organisations that also have sustainability at the heart of their operations – and we had a fantastic time at the celebration! 

Our commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 through the use of various innovative strategies and techniques has earned us a place in the finals for the Destination Net Zero Award. This recognition of our efforts is a significant achievement in itself – and we couldn’t be prouder of our team for this win!

Additionally, our nomination for the Energy Efficiency Award demonstrates the successful implementation of numerous energy-saving measures within our operations over the years. We take immense pride in this recognition and in the strides we’ve made towards sustainable business practices – so whilst we didn’t quite bag the trophy for this one, we’re still incredibly proud of our team!

 

The Freshies Awards – 23rd of June 2023

 

Finalists in the Planet Protector Award

We’re also pleased to report that we have been shortlisted for the Planet Protector Award at this year’s Freshies Awards. The evening – a fun and relaxed event will be held on the 23rd of June at Rivington Hall Barn.

The event was launched in 2021 and was designed to inspire and bring together businesses across the North West – by shining a light on the unsung heroes and success stories that are typically overlooked by traditional awards ceremonies.

We’re thrilled to have been nominated for the   ‘Planet Protector’ award – which seeks to celebrate the businesses and individuals across the North West who are doing their bit to promote sustainability and look after the environment.

Finalists in the Family Business of the Year Award 

In addition to our nominations at the Lancashire Business Environment Awards and The Freshies, we are equally thrilled to share that we are finalists at Lancashire’s Premier Business Awards, The BIBAs. Scheduled for the 15th of September at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom, the event promises to be an evening of glamour, glitz and celebration – and we just can’t wait!

The BIBAs have been a fixture since 2008, making them the longest-running and most esteemed business awards in Lancashire. In fact, they’re often referred to as ‘the one everyone wants to win!’

We’re lucky enough to have been selected as finalists for the Green Business of the Year Award, a category that recognises businesses demonstrating exceptional commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. This recognition is an extraordinary accolade for our team, and it pays tribute to our relentless daily efforts in pursuing sustainability.

Additionally, we are also nominated for the Family Business of the Year Award. As a second-generation family-owned business, this is another category exceptionally close to our hearts. We take immense pride in our people-centric philosophy here at Equestrian Surfaces – and continually work on building a positive, supportive and collaborative working environment for our team.
